Halloween Story and the Winner

So we had our line-by-line Halloween Story Contest and here’s what my fabulous readers wrote:

Slowly Marne became aware of a nagging thought that something was wrong, like someone was behind her or that her zipper was undone. But no matter how many times Marne looked over her shoulder, she could never see anything out of place–unless, of course, you counted the enormous, gray marshmallow ghost following her everywhere. But no one else could see the marshamallow ghost, even though he had bright blue eyes that shone out of his deep eye sockets. Sometimes Marne thought she was crazy, but really, was there anything THAT crazy about seeing an invisible marshmallow ghost with bright blue eyes? Marne didn’t think she was crazy–couldn’t be crazy–crazy was people with unkempt hair who talked at rapid speeds–but whenever she gave warnings about the marshmallow ghost, people looked at her with worried expressions. When the crazy cat lady down the street forced Marne to take home one of her cats (a large Tom cat with a torn ear), Marne knew she was in trouble. But she took the cat anyway and named him Tom and the marshmallow ghost Jerry after she noticed they would consistently hiss at each other every chance they could get. Tom tried to pounce on Jerry, but he kept flying through the ghostly figure!

Feel free to write an ending in the comments, just for fun. 🙂

And our contest winner is…Jenilyn! Wow, second in a row winning a contest here. Thanks for being such a fabulous follower. Email me to let me know what you want your winnings to be.

About Karen Krueger

I write for teens when I'm not chasing after two cute kids. I love to sing and eat cereal (though not at the same time), and I most certainly am not a vampire because I'm addicted to sunshine.
