Book Reviews

My Ratings Explained:

Reading Stars
(These stars are based purely on entertainment value. Did I laugh, cry, and get tickled inside? It’s an evaluation of the story and how much I enjoyed it as a reader.)

*** -Enjoyed it & recommend it.
**** -Enjoyed it immensely & would read it again.
*****-Loved it! I’m going out to buy my own copy right now…

Writing Stars

(I’ve tried to separate entertainment value with the quirks of writing that may bug me about a book. That’s where these stars come in. I look at writing style a lot. But I also evaluate whether the author stayed true to the target audience, whether the author tried to hard to push an agenda/teach a lesson, etc.)

*** -A few distracting flaws, but still decent.
**** -Good writing. No complaints.
*****-Phenomenal. I want to be this author when I grow up.
